Great flavor and great for travel
I was searching for a plant based bar that gave me some more energy mid day (and not have to drink another cup of coffee). This adds some protein but also the kick of some extra caffeine too. Very happy I found REDO bars. They make many other flavors. I have only tried the Swedish Chocolate, Mocca Latte and regular chocolate (I got the variety pack to start to figure out which flavors I like the best before purchasing. Happy I did!
I picked up the RE:DO Mocca Latte Plant-Based Protein Bars looking for something dairy-free that would actually give me sustained energy, and they definitely delivered on that front. These bars gave me a steady, noticeable boost without a crash. The combination of pea protein and slow-digesting carbs (like oat groats and rice syrup) made them feel more substantial than a typical snack bar. With 12g of plant-based protein per bar, they worked well as a light pre-workout option or a mid-afternoon pick-me-up.I especially liked them on busy days when I needed something quick but filling. The Mocca Latte flavor is well balanced. You get that espresso note paired with dark chocolate sweetness, but it’s not overpowering or artificial tasting. The texture is comparable to other premium protein bars: slightly chewy with a soft bite, not overly dense or chalky. The dark chocolate coating adds a nice finish without making it messy. If you’re used to mainstream protein bars, these stack up well in taste and mouthfeel.I appreciate that they’re:Fresh100% veganDairy-free and nut-freeFree from artificial additivesThe ingredient list is fairly straightforward for a protein bar, and I like that the protein comes primarily from pea protein. The fact that they’re recognized by the Swedish Olympic Committee as “Bra Bränsle” (“Good Fuel”) adds a nice layer of credibility for performance-focused nutrition. At around $32 for nine bars, they are undeniably expensive. That breaks down to over $3 per bar, which puts them in the premium category. While the quality and taste are solid, the price may make them more of an occasional purchase rather than a daily staple. If you’re looking for a clean, plant-based protein bar that tastes good and provides real, steady energy, RE:DO delivers. They’re comparable in flavor and texture to other high-end protein bars — just be prepared to pay a premium for them.
Let's start with the basics, these bars taste very good. The bar is a little dry and the texture is not as smooth as some others but not too chalky. These are pretty enjoyable to eat as a treat or a pre-workout snack. These appear to be made from high quality (clean) ingredients and include caffeine, which many like to include in their pre-workout bar.Good:1. Good taste2. Reasonable texture for a protein bar3. Includes caffeine, not all bars do4. Vegan (for those who want this)5. 6g of fiberNot so good:1. Only 13g of protein per bar, which is on the lower side2. 15g of added sugar, which is higher than I like in a protein bar3. 250 calories per bar, which is higher than I prefer for this protein levelOverall, these are fine but they just don't stand out in any particular area. I don't know if I will keep purchasing these, at just over $3.50 a bar there are other options that may be a better option for me.
These protein bars are really tasty & surprisingly filling. Each bar has 13g of protein and 6g of fiber, which is great. They do have 15g of sugar, which is a bit higher than I expected, but it comes from natural ingredients rather than artificial sweeteners, so I don’t mind it as much. The taste & texture are on par with some of the better protein bars I’ve had. They’re not overly sweet, dry, or cakey, and they actually feel like a solid snack, not a candy bar pretending to be healthy. They’re convenient & perfect for on-the-go use as part of a workout or diet routine. Price-wise, they’re very reasonable compared to other quality protein bars out there, especially since they’re organic, plant-based, and great tasting.
